Arthur C. Clarke

Posted by Joel Heck on Thursday, February 15, 2018
This version of "Chronologically Lewis," posted two months after the previous version, is one page longer and about two thousand words longer. The major change involves insights from the last resource listed at the end of "Chronologically Lewis": From Narnia to A Space Odyssey: The War of Ideas Between Arthur C. Clarke and C. S. Lewis.  Lewis' side of the correspondence was already present, but this book allowed me to read in full the letters that Clarke wrote to Lewis. Therefore, I added some text to give a more complete explanation of what Clarke wrote, to which Lewis replied. There are probably a few other small items, particularly additional historical details about some part of the chronology, which are new as well.

The file that appears below lists all works of C. S. Lewis in chronological order (now 488 in number, one more than the previous version because of the addition of the brief "Undergraduate Criticism" from 1960) in the location where they were first published or delivered (if spoken) as far as I am able to determine. Corrections are welcome. This version, slightly revised and added on March 18, 2017, includes works listed in the bibliography of Adam Barkman's C. S. Lewis & Philosophy as a Way of Life. It also includes the recently discovered (by Christopher Marsh) "A Christmas Sermon for Pagans."
